5 reasons why Lofi should be your next night out

Where days blur into nights, and every next move keeps you guessing

Lofi is one of those places people keep coming back to – not because it’s the newest or the most hyped, but because it just works. The setup makes sense, the crowd feels right, and the whole experience flows in a way that most places don’t quite manage.

You don’t go to Lofi for a quick night out. You go because you’re okay with letting the day turn into night, and seeing where it ends up. And more often than not, you stay way longer than you planned.

1. You ease into it, and suddenly you’re hours in

In summer, things kick off outside in the Courtyard, where everything feels relaxed and open. People are hanging out, catching up, easing into the music. It leans more towards a daytime gathering than a typical club setting. Eventually, as the sun sets, people make their way indoors.

“The Courtyard is what I remember most from last summer. You’d be dancing, then sitting outside for a bit, then upstairs just watching the crowd. Not many places have that kind of flow,” says Katy, 30.

Outside of summer, that same energy just shifts indoors. You might start on the Colorfloor, settle in slowly, and let the space fill up around you. It still feels unhurried, just without the daylight.

What makes it work is that it is all part of the same event. You are not moving between separate parties or chasing a ‘main moment.’ It is one continuous experience that unfolds over time.

2. The crowd is mixed but curated

Lofi attracts a wide range of people, but it never feels disconnected.

On any given day, you will find people there for house, techno, disco, or more experimental sounds. Different collectives host their own nights, from Ratherlost to IsBurning, and each brings its own energy.

What stands out is how naturally it all blends together. It doesn’t feel like separate scenes sharing a space. It feels like a shared understanding of why everyone is there in the first place.

“It’s one of those places where you actually end up talking to strangers. I felt pretty comfortable there, which isn’t always the case at clubs,” says Daniel, 28.

There is no single type of crowd, and that is exactly what makes it work.

3. Big names are there, but they’re not the focus

Lofi regularly books artists like Honey Dijon, Charlotte de Witte, and Dixon, so the big names are definitely part of the picture.

At the same time, the club does not revolve around headliners. The programming leaves room for smaller acts, local talent, and collectives that bring something different.

“I end up at a lot of shows there. I don’t always know the lineup, but I trust the curation and like the crowd,” says Maria, 32.

In practice, this means that the most memorable moments are often unexpected. You might come for a specific DJ, but end up staying because of a set you had not planned to see at all.

4. The space still feels raw, in an intentional way

The venue itself plays a big role in the experience. Lofi opened in 2019 in a former bus garage, and it still carries that history.

You can see it in the details, like the markings on the floor that have been left in place, especially on the Colorfloor. The structure of the building has not been overly polished or redesigned.

That slightly unfinished, industrial feel gives the space character. It feels real, not overly curated, and it allows the music and the crowd to take the lead.

5. The lighting is constantly evolving, and upgrading the experience

One detail that regular visitors notice is how often the main room changes visually.

Every few months, Lofi introduces a completely new light setup in the club. These are not small adjustments, but full redesigns that shift how the space feels.

They collaborate with Lumus Instruments, who also work with festivals like Draaimolen and Dekmantel. The result is lighting that is closely tied to the music, sometimes subtle and immersive, other times more intense.

It adds another layer to the experience without ever taking attention away from what matters most.

So why Lofi?

Because it does not depend on one big moment. The full day holds up, whether you arrive early or later on.

People keep coming back because the experience is consistent. It is not about one set, it is about how everything fits together. Don’t overplan it. Just go and stay as long as it feels right.
