Truck Violence | V11 Rotterdam

De kaartverkoop voor Truck Violence start vrijdag 27 februari om 10.00 uur.
Truck Violence komt op zondag 5 juli naar V11 voor een flinke dosis experimentele post-hardcore, sludge en emo. Naast de reguliere bezetting van drums, gitaar en bas voegt het viertal uit Montreal, Canada, ook folkinstrumenten zoals banjo’s toe aan hun sound. De band heeft tot nu toe één album uitgebracht, genaamd Violence. Met de acht nummers die op deze plaat staan, is duidelijk dat Truck Violence nog lang niet is uitgeëxperimenteerd. Het album is grotendeels zelf opgenomen in de kelder van bandleden en focust op thema’s zoals verslaving en het plattelandsleven.

Extra info: Voordat ze Truck Violence werden, speelde de groep eerst onder andere namen en muziekstijlen, waaronder een eerdere incarnatie als No Cru5t en later als Truck, waarin ze experimenteerden met hardcore, elektronica en zelfs rap. Pas later, toen nieuwe leden erbij kwamen, evolueerden ze naar de huidige mix van hardcore, punk, folk en shoegaze waar Truck Violence nu bekend om staat.

Truck Violence are coming to V11 on Sunday 5 July for a hefty dose of experimental post-hardcore, sludge and emo. In addition to the standard line-up of drums, guitar and bass, the four-piece from Montreal, Canada, also incorporate folk instruments such as banjos into their sound. The band has released one album to date, entitled Violence. With the eight tracks featured on this record, it’s clear that Truck Violence is far from done experimenting. The album was largely self-recorded in the band members’ basement and focuses on themes such as addiction and rural life.

Extra info: Before becoming Truck Violence, the group played under various names and musical styles, including an earlier incarnation as No Cru5t and later as Truck, during which they experimented with hardcore, electronica and even rap.
