Deze man heeft werkelijk alles in zich en maakte album waar americana liefhebbers simpelweg niet omheen kunnen. Dallas Burrow uit New Braunfels, Texas, timmert al een tijdje aan de weg met zijn werkelijk verrukkelijke muziek, een mix van country, americana, Tex-Mex en blues. Hij werd grootgebracht met de muziek van Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Willis Alan Ramsey en Billy Jo Shaver, en dat kun je allemaal terug horen in zijn muziek.

Dallas heeft een werkelijk fantastische bariton stem met een lekker rauw randje eraan en speelt ook heerlijk gitaar. Soms doet hij wat denken aan Jeffrey Foucault en dan weer een beetje meer richting Ryan Bingham maar ook zijn er raakvlakken met Guy Clark. Op zijn geweldige nieuwe album Way the West was Won gaat hij duetten aan met o.a. Ray Wylie Hubbard en Kelly Willis maar er is veel meer heerlijks te horen. Als een hedendaagse Jack Kerouac zingt hij zijn verhalen over het oude en nieuwe wilde westen van de VS in dreigende rockende songs, groovende bluesyliedjes, fraaie duetten, country slijpers, en Mexicaanse walsjes. Tijdens deze tour wordt Dallas bijgestaan op piano, accordeon en gitaar door muzikale alleskunner Bart De Win.

This man truly has it all and has made an album that Americana lovers simply cannot ignore. Dallas Burrow from New Braunfels has been building a strong reputation for quite some time with his absolutely delicious music — a blend of country, Americana, Tex-Mex, and blues. He was raised on the music of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, Willis Alan Ramsey, and Billy Joe Shaver, all of which can clearly be heard in his own music.

Dallas has a truly fantastic baritone voice with a wonderfully rough edge to it, and he is also a superb guitarist. At times he recalls Jeffrey Foucault, while at other moments he leans more toward Ryan Bingham, though there are also clear similarities to Guy Clark. On his outstanding new album Way the West Was Won, he performs duets with artists including Ray Wylie Hubbard and Kelly Willis, but there is much more beauty to discover throughout the record. Like a modern-day Jack Kerouac, he sings his stories about the old and new Wild West of the United States in brooding rock songs, grooving blues tunes, beautiful duets, country ballads, and Mexican waltzes. During this tour, Dallas is accompanied on piano, accordion, and guitar by multi-instrumentalist Bart De Win.
