Our ticket platform as a service to event organisers

At TicketSwap, we’ve always been committed to creating a safe, fair, and transparent marketplace for fans to buy and sell tickets. That’s why we’re launching a new model called organiser resale tickets, or ‘Platform as a Service’ for our partners. It gives event organisers the ability to manage ticket resales directly and is designed to create smoother resale experiences for fans – with quicker access to the events you love, all while protecting ticket value and keeping fairness and trust at the core.

So, how do organiser resale tickets work?

For some events, organisers can buy back and resell tickets to their events, as soon as there’s a new buyer here on TicketSwap. That means in this case, you’ll be buying from or selling to the organiser of the event itself. Instead of reselling your ticket directly to another fan, you’ll be selling it to the event organiser once a buyer has been found, and vice versa.

For transparency, you’ll see these tickets under ‘Resale tickets’ on an event page when buying, or as a notice which organiser you’re selling back to when selling. We’ll always explain everything clearly to you every step of the way, plus you’ll be able to view the organiser’s T&Cs and company info.

What this means for you, our fans

With this new way to buy and sell, you can enjoy faster access to high-demand events, as event organisers can now list the tickets they’ll buy back as soon as there’s a new buyer here. It means you no longer need to wait for last-minute ticket releases, or cross your fingers and hope someone decides to sell.

When it comes to pricing, things stay fair and straightforward. As a seller, you’ll receive guidance on setting your price. In some cases, event organisers can decide to add a minimum price for selling a ticket, to help protect the value of tickets. That means for some events, you might see a ‘Min’ option when you’re setting your selling price.

You'll always see a clear price range when listing (usually between 80% and 120% of the ticket’s original face value). We’ll also always let you know if you’re trying to set a selling price that’s lower than the organiser’s minimum price for a certain event.

Why are we introducing this?

For some high-demand events, ticket prices can vary dramatically, especially closer to the event. That instability isn’t great for fans or organisers. While we already cap prices (max 120% of face value), this new model helps organisers keep pricing more predictable and balanced on both ends. By enabling event organisers to buy back and resell tickets through our platform, both fans and organisers have pricing that reflects the true value of the ticket and the event – without unwanted extremes.

A quick note on pricing visibility

We’re always working on strengthening the platform and supporting both fans and partners. The key difference here is that event organisers are actively involved in buying back tickets and issuing new ones for their events. It’s a more collaborative, structured approach, and one that keeps fan experience and fairness at the forefront.

When browsing listings, you might notice that fan photos or names are no longer shown next to certain tickets and you’ll see the organiser’s logo instead. That’s because these listings are offered by the event organiser, so you’re buying from or selling directly to them.

We’ll always explain everything clearly to you in the buying or selling process, plus you’ll be able to view the organiser’s T&Cs and company info. For more details, check out our FAQ on how pricing works

Selling or buying tickets via an organiser

For any event with organiser resale tickets, organisers will be buying back and reselling tickets to their event. All the steps are quite similar to what you’re used to, but here’s what you need to know:

  • Selling: If you’re selling tickets to an organiser, you’ll pay seller's organiser costs per ticket, which is 5% of your listing price. If it’s a FairShare event, you’ll split that profit equally between you and the organiser. You can find more info on FairShare here.

  • Buying: When buying resale tickets from an organiser, the price you’ll see always includes organiser costs and VAT. You’ll pay in the original seller’s currency, but we’ll always show you what that original amount was that’s been converted to your preferred currency.

In the case of organiser resale tickets, all costs are charged by, or in the name of the organiser, not by TicketSwap – read more here on costs.

Looking ahead in the events landscape

This organiser resale tickets model is just one more way we’re making ticketing better, for both fans and organisers. We believe that every update to our platform should make your experience smoother, more straightforward, and overall help you more easily get to your favourite events – or handle a last-minute change of plans.
